Daniel Murphy is 30 years old and is from Preston in Lancashire. Dan has been a primary school teacher for 6 years now and although he loves his job, he is very passionate about singing and performing. Dan studied at Lancaster University achieving his BA (Hons) in Music and Educational Studies (2:1). Whilst studying, Dan performed many times with the choir and as a solo, touring across Europe and it was during this time that Dan fine-tuned his flair for harmonies and performance.
Joseph Appleton makes the other half of the Brothers of Swing; he is 26 years old and from St. Annes, near Blackpool. Joe is a singing tutor and musical theatre director (Clifton Academy, St. Annes), so when he’s not singing with Brothers of Swing, he is teaching others how to do so. Joe studied at The University of Central Lancashire achieving his BA (Hons) in Musical Theatre (2:1). During his time at university, Joe was a bass in The University of Central Lancashire’s chamber choir – with the choir going on to win BBC Adult Choir of the year 2010.
